Let me explain batchload a little bit more. If you want to do a batchprocessing - getting information on many files into the database - you have to ftp the files to the directory batchload.
When you hit the batchload-link in debaser's administration all the files in the batchload-directory will be scanned for multimedia-information and then moved to the upload-directory.
In debaser's preferences there are some options concerning batchload-processing. One option is that all files processed by batchload will be automatically approved. Another option is, that the genre-information will be taken from the file. A new genre/category will be automatically created and the file will be moved to this genre/category. If there is no information on the genre the files will appear in genre/category "Other".
When you are on the debaser's administration index page there is a pulldown with all genres/ categories (default is Other). Select a genre/category, hit the go-button and then all files of that genre/category will be listed.
I thought!!! that the batchload-function was a clever thing...
IMPORTANT! Make sure that the directories batchload, upload, images and images/thumbs have the CHMOD 777. Then everything should work as expected. Hopefully!
